We would like to let you know that the Safer Neighbourhood Team have carried out speed enforcement in Tillington Common following concerns raised by the Parish Council and local residents.
Road safety has been identified as a parish priority, and we are committed to working with our communities to address concerns and improve safety on our roads.
It was encouraging to see that the majority of motorists were complying with the 30mph speed limit. However, 8 drivers were reported for speeding, with speeds recorded between 35mph and 41mph.
Whilst these speeds may not seem excessive, higher speeds reduce a driver's ability to react to hazards and increase the risk of serious injury in the event of a collision.
We would like to thank the many motorists who are driving responsibly. Speed enforcement and road safety activity will continue across the area where concerns are identified.
